Brazil v Mexico Preview & Offers
Neymar led Brazil seek quarter-final spot with Mexico triumph
Time: 15:00PM BST
Location: Samara Arena
The 2018 World Cup last 16 continues into Monday afternoon with an interesting battle between two nations that have been impressive throughout their respective group campaigns. Brazil started slow but finished strongly, while Mexico impressed at the beginning but faltered in their final group clash, thought both will now be confident of edging into the next round of the tournament.
The main man and potential star of the show will again be Brazil skipper Neymar, who has shown the good and bad side to his game in Russia. The Samba Boys will hope to see the best of him again here and edge into the quarter-finals, as they continue to try and banish memories of four years ago on home soil.
In what is another fascinating last 16 match-up, Brazil are the obvious odds-on 1/2 favourites with Paddy Power to prevail and secure their spot in the quarter-finals. Mexico are threatening outsiders though at 13/2 to rally to what would a massive result on Russian territory.
84 - Neymar ?? has lost possession of the ball 84 times in the 2018 World Cup, at least 22 more than any other player. Superfluous. pic.twitter.com/IywSOJTBPp— OptaJean (@OptaJean) June 27, 2018
Head to head
These two nations have a rich history, having met on no less than 4 times before! It’s Brazil who boast 23 victories over Mexico and only 10 defeats in those fixtures, while seven games have been drawn overall so far.
