Chelsea vs Tottenham predictions: Stamford Bridge to stage huge Champions League deciderPublished March 29, 2018

Chelsea and Tottenham eased into the Champions League last season; the former winning the Premier League ahead of the latter. This season, though, the story has been completely different, with no such celebrations at Stamford Bridge. Antonio Conte was lauded last season but, as typically happens, when the results begin to deteriorate, so does the faith and belief of fans and the media. Speculation that the Italian will leave in the summer refuses to go away, and he may do regardless of what happens in the closing stages of the season. But his hand will be a lot stronger when it comes to negotiations with the board if he secures Champions League football again for next season.
To do that, Chelsea will need to overturn a five-point gap that Spurs have opened up. Losing in this game will probably end their hopes, but a victory will mean that two points is the gap with seven games to go and the Blues will fancy their chances. Mauricio Pochettino’s side are still without their injured talisman Harry Kane, and they have not won away to a top six side all season. Despite their issues, we are backing a Chelsea win.
Tottenham, to their credit, have scored seven goals since Kane’s injury, and they are unbeaten since being torn apart by Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium in December.
Chelsea, meanwhile, have lost their last two away games, to Manchester City and Manchester United, and were knocked out of the Champions League by Barcelona recently.
Only Harry Kane for Tottenham and Ross Barkley for Chelsea will miss this game.
