One of the most-balanced groups of the World Cup, any two of Poland, Senegal, Colombia and Japan could feasibly make it to the knockout round. Poland were prolific scorers in qualifying thanks to the services of Robert Lewandowski, arguably the best striker in Europe. He’ll be partnered up front by Arkadiusz Milik, the talented Napoli forward recovering from a spate of tough injuries. A defence led by Kamil Glik conceded a lot of goals in those aforementioned qualifiers but conducted themselves well at Euro 2016, conceding only two goals.

Senegal National Team training for World Cup - Free Bets UK

Hopes are high for one of the best Senegal teams in recent memory. They boast a strong spine with Kalidou Koulibaly, Cheikhou Kouyate, and Sadio Mane among their best players. It will be up to Mane and his fellow maverick forwards to inspire a bit of magic. Senegal boss Aliou Cisse has been criticised for his cautious approach. Many feel it’s not the right way to utilise the talents of a team stacked with attacking talent like Keita Balde and Ismaila Sarr.

With four goals in his last three matches for Poland, Lewandowski is, as ever, in terrific form on an international stage. Poland are well capable of scoring goals so if they can plug up the other end then they’ll fancy their chances with clinical talents like Lewandowski and Milik.

Fan ire is understandable when it comes to Senegal’s displays in recent months. They haven’t scored more than two goals in any of their last nine matches, an uninspiring run of results. If they fail to make it out of the group stage then Cisse will almost certainly be sacked.

Team news

Kamil Glik will start in his country’s opening match but has only just recovered from a shoulder ligament injury. Milik is also expected to be fully fit for the Senegal clash.

Senegal have no injury concerns at the time of writing.

and Raheem Sterling leading the attack. In the three-man defence, Harry Maguire will be chosen ahead of Gary Cahill.

Tunisia will be without their star player, Youssef Msakni, in Russia but that would be the case when he damaged ligaments in April. They’ve been experimenting with the line-up ever since and the rejjigged team will probably have Wahbi Khazri playing as a lone frontman.
